Milano’s dressed for stylish success

With just one day to go until Gold Coast Eye’s Best Dressed winner is announced, fashionable frontrunner Milano Imai has her sights on the $5000 prize.
The Gold Coast TAFE fashion design student from Mermaid Waters stole the evening wear show with her glamorous gowns.
“I was overseas when the Best Dressed day and evening wear came out in the paper, but a lot of my friends E-mailed me about it and the comments on Facebook voting page were really nice to read,” she said.
“It was definitely a lot of fun and has made me think about styling as a career- a friend has even offered for me to be his in-house stylist.”

Ms Imai (pictured) said this year’s competition was tough.
“It was great seeing how all the girls interpreted their day and night wear and seeing a wide range of styles represented, from on-trend to vintage and pin-up,” she said.
“I loved what Emily Whitlock was wearing- the blazer was a great statement piece for her outfit and the hat was so cute too.”

The style spotlight is nothing new for Ms Imai, a frequent winner of Fashions on the Field competitions,
“They definitely helped me with polishing my outfits as every detail in the competition gets marked and judged and you have such hard competition you can’t afford not to make every accessory and handbag count,” she said.
