Commentary:
Milano means “favoured”- an apt description for Milano Imai, the 24-year-old beauty from Mermaid Waters who was names Best Dressed Filly at the Prime Minister’s Cup race day on the Gold Coast.
The Fashion student won over the judges with her “classic look with an edge touch” at the Gold Coast Turf Club on Saturday.
Ms Imai said her secret was finding clothing and accessories she liked during the year and combining them with flair in time for the big events.
“My outfit is by Toni Maticevski- he is my absolute favourite at the moment, an up-and-coming designer from Melbourne,” she said.
“I used Autumn colours as the inspiration for this look, pairing navy with black and incorporating tanned leather with my accessories.”
She added flowers to a hat from the Hat Box and decorated her clutch to match, wearing two necklaces from Adorn and Diva to finish off the look.
Kaan Whittal was named Best Dressed Stallion at the track, while Inessa McIntyre took out the award for Best Hat.
